Ma's  Turnips          The secret to this recipe is the apple.  I've put leftovers from this recipe into beef stew and confirmed turnip haters were unable to recognize them.
Ingredients:
1 x Kg  fresh turnips  1x apple  3 x tbsp margarine  1 x tbsp sugar   Salt and pepper to taste
Method:

First peel the turnips and apple and slice into chunks. Fill a big saucepan half full of water.  Add the turnips, apple, the margarine, sugar and salt and pepper to taste.
Cover the pot and simmer  for about 20 minutes, or until the turnip chunks are tender  Serve hot.
